The RALF Editorial Team is the group behind Rent a Local Friend’s guides on meeting people locally — for activities, dates, and paid companionship. We work directly with the product and trust & safety teams behind the platform, so what we write reflects how matching, payments, cancellations, and verification actually work today, not just how they’re marketed.

We write for three overlapping audiences we hear from constantly: people who’ve just relocated and are rebuilding a social circle from zero, travelers trying to find safe, honest company on the road, and locals who want to become a paid Local Buddy or are simply figuring out whether any of this is for them.

Every guide is checked against the platform’s current features and policies before it publishes, and revisited whenever those change — pricing, cancellation terms, and verification steps in particular. Where we cite outside data, such as scam statistics or research on loneliness and solo travel, we link directly to the primary source so you can check it yourself.
